An interactive presentation the room takes part in.
A room that votes, asks questions and reacts listens better than a room waiting for it to be over. You do not need a separate app for it, and your presentation does not have to leave the screen.
Why taking part works
People remember what they do. A question the room votes on turns listeners into participants: they gave an opinion and want to know how the rest voted. And the result tells you something: if the room already knows, you skip that part.
Questions from the room that others can vote on also bring in the quiet people. You see which question most people care about, instead of the question from whoever raised their hand first.
Three ways to take part
- Poll: a question with a few answers. The result grows live on screen. Good as an opener ("How do you make presentations today?") and for a decision.
- Questions: everyone asks a question on their phone and votes on those of others. The questions with the most votes are on top.
- Reactions: a thumbs up, a heart or applause that floats across the slide. Light, and you feel straight away how it lands.
Why a separate tool often stumbles
With a separate polling tool you switch windows mid-story: from your slides to the tool and back. The poll looks different from the rest, and the questions are somewhere else. That breaks the rhythm, and it feels like two presentations.
It works better when the poll is simply a slide in your presentation, in your own brand, and the room joins in without you switching anything.
How it works in Presentor
Press Z while presenting: a QR code appears with a six-character code. The room scans it, or goes to presentor.io/live and types the code. Nobody has to log in or install anything.
When your screen is on a poll slide, the room votes on it and the result grows on the slide. Press Q to see the questions, sorted by votes. Reactions float across the slide by themselves. Press K to add your camera in a round frame in a corner, for a webinar or a recording.
Live with the room, the camera bubble and the poll slide are part of Team. Up to 3000 people can join. After the session Presentor deletes the questions and votes; reactions are never stored.
How to set it up
Add a poll slide
Add a Poll slide at the moment you want to ask the room something, with a question and a few answers.
Present and press Z
The QR code appears large. Press again and it sits small in the corner; once more and it is gone.
Let the room vote
Go to the poll slide: the room sees the question on their phones, the result grows on screen.
Answer the questions
Press Q for the questions with the most votes, and answer them at the end or along the way.
Frequently asked questions
Does the audience need to install an app?
No. Scanning a QR code or opening presentor.io/live and typing the code is enough. It works in any browser on a phone.
Can people ask a question anonymously?
Yes. Filling in a name is allowed, not required.
Does it work online, for a webinar?
Yes. Share your screen, and participants scan the code or type it in. With the camera bubble you are on screen yourself in a corner of the slide.
What happens to the answers?
A session stays open for at most twelve hours. After that, or when you end it earlier, Presentor deletes the questions and votes.
