How to make an on-brand presentation that stays on brand.
A template is not a brand. After three colleagues and two quarters there are four shades of blue, three fonts and a stretched logo. This is how you choose a brand, lock it and have it followed.
What a brand is in a presentation
Five things decide whether a slide is "yours": the colours (paper, ink, an accent, a second colour and a deep colour for dark slides), the font pair (a heading and a body font), the logo in light and dark, the decoration (lines, shapes, a form that returns) and the rhythm of the motion. When those five are fixed, anyone can type what they want and it keeps being right.
Why a template is not enough
A PowerPoint template gives a starting point, not a boundary. Anyone can pick a colour, change a font or paste a picture from an old deck. After a few months half the presentations no longer look like the brand, and nobody did it on purpose.
A brand guardian who checks everything is expensive and always too late: the presentation has already been given.
Locking the brand
Better is a tool in which the brand belongs to the brand, not to the slide. In Presentor a brand or company is a style with its own presentations and people. An admin sets the colours, fonts, logo, decoration and rhythm once in Manage. Editors pick a slide type and type; they cannot change the colours and fonts. An agency with five clients has five brands, each with its own style.
You take the brand from your website or from the theme of your PowerPoint in ten seconds: colours, fonts and logo are recognised and ready. Then you adjust what is not right.
You also pick a signature: standard, editorial (magazine: hairlines, big numbers, no boxes) or pop (stickers, highlighter, things that jump in). So presentations of two brands with the same colours still do not look alike.
Fonts: self-hosted, and a pair that fits
A brand fails first on the fonts: the typeface is not on the colleague's laptop, and the presentation falls back to Arial. Presentor hosts the font pairs itself (open licences) or loads your own woff2, so every viewer on every device sees the same letters.
A good pair: a heading with character and a calm body font. Two headline fonts together is almost always too much.
One presentation, your client's colours
For a proposal you sometimes want the opposite: your content in the colours and with the logo of the client. With a link per recipient (Premium) Presentor puts "For <company>" on the first slide, or the whole deck in the colours of their website. The presentation itself does not change.
How to set up your brand in Presentor
Sign up with your website
When you sign up you enter your website. Your brand is ready the first time you log in, with a starter presentation in your style.
Check the brand in Manage
Colours, font pair (or your own woff2), logo light and dark, decoration, corner logo and rhythm. From your website or from the theme of a pptx.
Invite your colleagues
Editors make presentations in the style; viewers only see them. Roles per brand and per presentation.
Make the first presentation
Every slide follows the style by itself. Switching slide type changes the layout, not the brand.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my existing PowerPoint template?
You can take the colours and fonts from the theme of your pptx and import your PowerPoint; the slides are then in your style straight away. The template itself (the layouts) is not carried over, because the slide types have their own layout and motion. Import is part of Premium.
Can an editor change the brand?
No. Only an admin of the brand can change the brand. Editors pick a variant (light or dark) and a slide type.
What if my brand needs its own theme?
For a custom brand 6 LABS builds a theme in code, with its own decoration, rhythm and logo animation. See Custom.
Does this work for an agency with several clients?
Yes. Every brand or company has its own style, presentations and people. A client can get access to one presentation without seeing the rest.
