PRESENTOR

Guide · 15 October 2026

How to know whether your presentation was watched.

You send a proposal and it goes quiet. Did the client open it? How far did they get? A presentation shared as a link can tell you, and that changes when you call.

Why an attachment says nothing back

A pptx or pdf as an attachment disappears into someone's inbox. You do not know whether it was opened, forwarded or read up to the price. So you call too early, too late, or not at all.

A presentation as a link is a page: it can measure. Not who the viewer is (unless they fill that in themselves), but when they opened, how long they watched each slide and where they dropped off.

What you can measure, and what it means

  • Opened: the moment the link opens. That is the moment to call, not three days later.
  • Viewing time per slide: where someone lingers. Long on the price is a question; long on the planning is interest.
  • How far: if everyone drops off at slide nine, slide nine is the problem, not your price.
  • Forwarded: the same link opening in another browser or with another address means someone else is watching. Often the decision maker.

Compare two versions of a deck (A/B), or your deck against the average of all your presentations, and you know whether a new structure works.

How it works in Presentor

Share your presentation as a public link, or make a link per recipient with their name in it. As soon as someone opens, you get an email; in the editor you see live who is watching now. Under Viewers you find the viewing time per slide, how far someone got and the results of action slides: an approval, a booked meeting, an answer to a question or a download.

Connect your CRM (Teamleader, HubSpot, Pipedrive or Agreed) and the viewing time becomes a note on the contact. If someone really watched (sixty percent seen and half a minute, or two minutes), there is a task to call. For other systems there are webhooks to Zapier, Make or your own software.

Analytics, notifications, links per recipient and the CRM connection are part of Premium. Sharing a public link is in Basic.

Measuring fairly

Measuring is only useful when it is fair. Presentor stores name and email only when you switch that on per link or make a link per recipient, places no third-party trackers, and the cookie of a link only opens the images of that one brand. Tell your recipients that you measure, for example in your own privacy statement. How Presentor handles data is under Security.

How to set it up

  1. Make a link

Share > Public link. With Premium: a password, an expiry date, or a link per recipient.

  2. Switch on the notification

You get an email when the link opens, at most one per hour per link.

  3. Connect your CRM

Manage > CRM connections. Log in once at Teamleader, HubSpot or Pipedrive, or use a connection key from Agreed.

  4. Look under Viewers

Viewing time per slide, how far someone got, actions and a comparison between audiences.

Frequently asked questions

Do I know who watched?

Only when the link asks for it (name and email on opening) or when it is a link per recipient. Otherwise you see a viewing session without a name.

Does my own team count?

No, editors of the brand are left out of the analytics by default.

Can I show a presentation inside an email?

Yes: export an animated GIF (Premium) and put it in your email, with the link below. Invitations to a presentation show the latest GIF automatically.

What if a viewer wants a pdf?

Put a "download" action slide in your presentation: the viewer gets a neat pdf, and you see that they did.
